Brazil is one of the world’s largest countries, both in terms of area and population. With an area of around 8.5 million square kilometers, it is the 5ᵉ largest country in size. It should be noted that the Amazon rainforest occupies a large part of Brazil. In 2021, the country was home to a population of around 213 million, making it the most populous nation in South America.

Australia is a country of vast size and unique geography. With an area of around 7.69 million square kilometers, it is the 6ᵉ largest country in the world. This island nation is also known for its wildlife, with animal species such as kangaroos, koalas and Tasmanian devils. Despite its impressive size, Australia is relatively sparsely populated, with a population of around 26 million, concentrated mainly on the east and south coasts. 

With an area of around 3.29 million square kilometers, India is the 7ᵉ largest country in the world. India is also home to an exceptionally large population, with over 1.4 billion inhabitants, making it the 2ᵉ most populous country on the planet. It’s worth noting that India is as populous as China while being 3 times less vast. 

Argentina, located in South America, is distinguished by its vast size and varied geography. The country covers some 2.78 million square kilometers, making it the 8ᵉ largest in the world. Despite its imposing size, Argentina’s population is relatively modest, with around 45 million inhabitants in 2021. Argentina is also the 2ᵉ largest country in South America.

With around 2.72 million square kilometers, Kazakhstan the 9ᵉ largest country in the world. Despite its large size, Kazakhstan’s population is relatively modest, at around 19 million in 2021. Kazakhstan is located in Central Asia and Eastern Europe. It is a Central Asian country, but a small part of its territory lies west of the Ural Mountains, which also places it in Europe. Kazakhstan’s capital is Nur-Sultan, formerly known as Astana, and its most populous city is Almaty.

With an area of around 2.38 million square kilometers, Algeria is the largest country in Africa and the 10ᵉ largest country in the world. Algeria boasts a diversity of landscapes ranging from the vast deserts of the Sahara in the south, to the Atlas Mountains in the north, to its Mediterranean coasts. In 2021, the population of Algeria was around 44 million.

The Democratic Republic of Congo located in Central Africa is the 2ᵉ largest country in Africa and the 11ᵉ largest in the world in terms of surface area. Despite its large size, the Democratic Republic of Congo has a population of around 87 million, making it one of the most populous countries in Africa.

Denmark, located in Northern Europe, is a relatively small country in terms of area, but it has an overseas territory that adds considerably to its overall size. Greenland, a self-governing territory of Denmark, is the world’s largest island and occupies most of this space. This Arctic expanse covers some 2.17 million square kilometers.

This relationship between Denmark and Greenland is a unique example of a small European nation with an extremely vast overseas territory, making it one of the countries in the world with the largest geographical area, although most of this area is located outside Europe. In 2021, the number of inhabitants in Greenland was around 56,000.

Saudi Arabia, located on the Arabian Peninsula, is a vast country in Western Asia, covering an area of around 2.15 million square kilometers. Its territory is dominated by arid deserts, including the famous Rub al-Khali, one of the world’s largest sand deserts. Saudi Arabia is sparsely populated in relation to its size. In 2021, the population was around 34 million.

With approximately 1.96 million square kilometers, Mexico is the 14ᵉ largest country in the world. Mexico is located in North America and is a multi-faceted country. For example, it boasts a wealth of culture, with the remains of ancient civilizations such as the Aztecs and Mayans. It is also 10ᵉ most populous country in the world, with 126 million inhabitants in 2021.

Indonesia covers an area of around 1.9 million square kilometers, making it the world’s largest island country and the 15ᵉ largest in the world. The Indonesian archipelago is made up of thousands of islands, the largest of which are Sumatra, Java, Kalimantan. Indonesia is also home to a diverse population, numbering over 276 million by 2021, making it the fourth most populous country in the world.

Sudan is located in North-East Africa and covers an area of around 1.88 million square kilometers. This makes it the third largest country in Africa and one of the largest in the world. Sudan’s population numbers around 44 million, with a variety of ethnicities and languages.

Libya, located in North Africa, is a country with an area of around 1.76 million square kilometers, making it one of the largest countries in Africa and the 17ᵉ largest in the world. Its geography is dominated by the Sahara Desert, which covers most of the country, but there are also coastal regions along the Mediterranean Sea. Libya’s population numbers around 7 million, the majority of whom live in coastal cities such as Tripoli, the country’s capital.

Iran, located in Western Asia, is a vast and geographically diverse country. It covers an area of around 1.65 million square kilometers, making it one of the largest countries in the world, ranked 18ᵉ in terms of surface area. In 2021, Iran had a population of around 83 million, making it one of the most populous countries in the region.
